Leslie Lux-Baute

Mental Health Counselor – Student Intern

I was born and raised in a large farm family in Indiana. I am a counseling intern working towards earning my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. Also, I have a B.A. in Secondary Education from Franklin College.

I believe it is important to build a strong and safe therapeutic relationship with my clients. I strive to create an environment that promotes healing, productive communication, understanding, and overall well-being while creating a space where clients can tackle obstacles holding them back from living their best lives. I believe that my clients have the proper tools and motivation necessary to make the desired changes they are seeking. I understand that change can be intimidating and I walk alongside my clients supporting them as they embrace their challenges and move towards a more fulfilling life.

I take a holistic and collaborative approach to my client’s wellness journey. I believe there is more to mental health than the health of the mind and take into consideration the relationship between the mind, body, and spirit. During sessions, I put an emphasis on being curious and reflective with my clients while examining their journeys and how previous experiences have influenced their current life path.

I am trained in Brainspotting Phase 1 and Phase 2, a method that centers around identifying an area of focus, processing through that area, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/physical pain, trauma, dissociation, and other complex symptoms. I look forward to walking alongside you in your journey to healing!
